Description

Finally, an avalanche backpack without compromise. Building off of the already acclaimed LF40, this pack incorporates new innovative solutions for rescue tool access, allowing the backpack and SBX to stay on the wearer for the maximum time during search and rescue.

Recommended Use

Ski Touring, Ski Mountaineering, Multi-day winter trips.

Weight

1880g with SBX, and all attachments. 1140g Stripped.

SBX Integration

SBX is fully integrated into the backpack's body and harness when installed but with a removable housing design. This allows you to use the pack as a lightweight ski touring bag for low-angle or low-danger days.

The air intake for SBX is an elongated mesh panel along the zipper for the back panel.

The removable foampod is stored in a mesh drop-pocket on the rightsidewall of the backpack body, securing access to the air intake window.

Tucked away to the side, the SBX unit does not get in the way of the 40L main compartment, accessed from the back panel.

Outlet hoses are routed internally through the shoulder straps, with two mesh windows where fresh air can escape into the snowpack in case of burial in an avalanche.

Flexible Equipment Carry

for both skis and snowboards

Diagonal ski carry wide enough for powder skis or splitboard tails, and A-frame and vertical snowboard carry options allow you to pick the best mode of ski carry for the section of terrain you are navigating.

Best Alternative to an Airbag

“Plain and simple, this is my favorite backcountry pack I've ever used. I wore this pack for over 50 days this season, including for guiding out of backcountry huts,” said our lead tester. “The features are awesome and almost too numerous to describe, and it's super comfortable for both the uphill and the downhill. This pack definitely lives up to the hype.”
